Coke classic as penetrating oil and using used motor oil?

Sorry for the two part question.
1. When hubby was younger he’d use original CocaCola to penetrate rust on farm equipment with better results than with 3-in-1 oil. He’d also use Coke to remove rust from tools. Can a current Coke Classic be used this way with similar results?
2. Can used motor oil be re-used as a lubricating oil (but not as a motor oil) on small equipment?

sure and yes.. must be a old fart like me coke still the same it will eat rust yes an dold oil can be used for a lot of things
Yes and yes. Coke is also good for removing corrosion on batteries. And we drink this stuff. Isn’t that kinda……hmm..when you think about it?
Coke may or may not desolve rust and corrosion but Blaster rust solvent leaves a trace of lubricant which slows down rust. Blaster is avalable at ant auto-parts store and Walmart’s sutomotive section.
yes on the coke and old motor oil should not be used on close tolerance arts because of metal being in the oil and carbon it can cause you problems, however using it to lube lets say a lawn mower cable would be ok or some folding lawn chair seats. But not in the engine. Also use gloves when handling used motor oil. The motor oil contains metal about 20 microns big and can go between the cells of your skin causing infection and of course the carbon could cause Cancer. Many auto mechanics have come up with Cancer and those are two types besides getting it from brake dust and clutch dust
